Martha D. Purrier, RN, MN

Martha moved to the Seattle area after earning her degree in nursing from Harding University, in Arkansas. She then received her Masters in Nursing from the University of Washington. She has worked in oncology for more than 25 years, coming to Virginia Mason in 1999. While at Virginia Mason, she has held the roles of Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist, Director of Inpatient Oncology and Director of the Kaizen Promotion Office. Martha is the co-author of Getting to Standard Work in Health Care. In addition, she is on the Clinical Nursing faculty at University of Washington and serves as a guest lecturer at other local schools of nursing. Martha came to Bailey Boushay in 2012 where she is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Residential Care Program and the Outpatient Nursing Program. She is particularly interested in symptom management, oncology care and end-of-life care.
